What We Believe

BIBLICAL SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

The Holy Bible is the infallible record of God's revelation to mankind. Every word of Scripture is inspired by the breath of God (2 Tim. 3:16), and is therefore, inerrantly recorded in perfect accuracy by His divine chosen authors (2 Pet. 1:19-21).  It contains prophecy of the past, present, and ages to come regarding heaven and earth, God's will, and the destiny of mankind.  The Bible is the sole authority for salvation.

ONE TRUE SOVEREIGN GOD

There is one true sovereign God who is eternally self-existent (Exod. 3:14-15; Deut. 6:4; James 2:19) and had manifested himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Ghost in regeneration. In the Old Testament he revealed himself as Jehovah God (Exod. 3:14-15), and in his historical execution of redemption, unveiled himself in the New Testament as our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Tit. 2:13).

JESUS IS LORD

The historical Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh (I Tim. 3:16; I John 5:20). Having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, he is absolute deity and humanity (Luke 1:24-35); Heb. 10:5). Through his sacrificial death on the cross, resurrection from the dead, and exaltation, he atoned for the sins of the world. All who call upon him shall receive salvation (Rom. 10:8-13), for the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sins (I John 1:7).

FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINE OF SALVATION

On account of the death, burial, resurrection, and exaltation of Jesus Christ, all who believe in him shall receive eternal life through the process of salvation (Eph. 1:14).  This process includes:

  • Personal confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Rom 10:8-10)

  • Repentance from congenial sin (Matt. 3:2; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30)

  • Water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 8:2:1-4, 38; Tit. 3:4-6)

  • Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues (Matt. 3:11; Acts 2:1-4; Tit. 3:4-6)

  • Resurrection to everlasting life (1 Cor. 15:20-23, 51-53)
